A film about Zubin Mehta
Last week, the Belgrade Philharmonic had two concerts in Mumbai under the direction of Zubin Mehta, opening the world celebration of his 90th birthday in the maestro's hometown. On that occasion, a documentary film was premiered da capo about Mehta and the Belgrade Philharmonic, by Boris Miljković. The Belgrade Orchestra was the first to offer the young Mehta a professional chance back in 1958. It turned out that the archive, which richly documents all previous joint concerts and guest appearances, lacks material about the beginning of that decades-long friendship. This was the reason for Jelena Milašinović, the long-time PR manager of the Belgrade Philharmonic, who is also the producer of the film, to show the world the decades-long friendship between maestro Mehta and the Philharmonic with a documentary film. The title of the movie da capo, a musical term meaning "from the beginning", was chosen to emphasize the continuity and great emotion between the Belgrade Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta. Text by Boris Miljković, author of the film, about the days of creation da capo- who wrote for "Vreme", is a confirmation of that story
