Vinegar and bananas

On the occasion of April 22, the day declared Earth Day, the American non-governmental organization for the protection of this environment Environmental Defense Fund (www.edf.org) invited people all over the world to "clean up" their houses. EDF warned that most people use a large amount of chemicals to clean their homes, many of which are extremely harmful to health and actually have the opposite effect - they replace dirt with toxic substances. Therefore, EDF's recommendation is to turn to natural resources that we have in the house and that were used at a time when there were no modern chemicals that make the house brightly polluted. So vinegar, salt, borax, baking soda, water, thyme and banana peel.

What to do for the holidays

Jump out of the rut

The Day of the FRY, April 27, falls on Friday, and May Day on Tuesday, which together with the non-working Wednesday and liberally working the pre-holiday Monday makes for a whole six days of holidays. What can we say about those who celebrate St. George's Day and who could comfortably combine this Friday with that Monday (11 days). Ten years ago there would have been no end to workers' happiness, while today, when few people work, such days off only cause nervousness. Spending May Day next to the "small screen", like the New Year or Republic Day, is completely pointless because spring simply beckons to different activities. So we did a little research for you on what can be done with what you have too much of (time) and without what you have too little of (money).

In the second installment of the "Good Soldier Vojka" featurette, RTS journalist Vojka Pajkić will tell "Vreme" the story of the paranoia that reigned in Mobilna 2 on Kosmaj, and the perils they went into every night hoping that NATO would not discover them...

Kosmaj's story: RTS in partisans (1)

Good soldier Vojka

At the very beginning of the bombing, RTS formed two mobile units in Zlatibor and Kosmaj, whose function was supposed to be to take over program activities in the event of the bombing of the television building. In the utmost secrecy, RTS journalists and technicians were taken "to the partisans", where they carried out program tasks every day, ready to be involved at any moment if necessary. They never got involved, and in the name of wages for two months of fear in the forests of Kosmai, individuals were rewarded with a variable of 300 dinars. In three installments, "Vreme" will exclusively publish excerpts from the manuscripts of RTS journalist Vojka Pajkić, culture editor at Radio 202, who was in Kosmaj as part of mobile unit number two from April 12 to May 22, 1999. Journalist Vojka Pajkić testifies in the "Vremena" column about Kosmaj's nights under bombs that fell less than 150 meters from the place where they were placed, about the locators found in the drawer, about the regular relocation of the mobile team, the futility of the entire project. The names of the actors in this story have been changed, but the events are authentic. Editorial office of the weekly "Vreme"

In the sixties of this century, futurists predicted the emergence of the "encephalon generation", a man with a stunted body and a huge head. It turned out that their theories have no real basis - the coming generations are taller and heavier than their grandfathers. On the other hand, the physical activity of man has been replaced by the machine and the computer, and that is why we have become slower and weaker than our ancestors and less ready to withstand the effort
